RPGamer did its annual “Best Of” Editor’s Choice Awards for 2014, with such categories as best console game, best battle system, and best story.
Boot Hill Heroes actually won third place in the humble category of “Most Overlooked of 2014” after Divinity: Original Sin and Unrest.
Thank you RPGamer for giving Boot Hill Heroes some recognition and bringing it to the attention of those who may not have heard of it. Marketing an indie game is a tough business. Just making a game is only half the struggle.
But if you are reading this, then you are one of the awesome people who did not overlook Boot Hill Heroes. Thank you for not overlooking this often overlooked game! You are what keeps Experimental Gamer going and makes this all worthwhile.
I think everyone should take a moment and give a plug to their favorite overlooked game. Not Boot Hill Heroes, but another indie game in your Steam library that you feel deserves some recognition. I’ll be doing this on Twitter so follow me @BootHillHeroes to hear some recommendations. Tweet me some suggestions or leave them in the comments below and I’ll check them out.
As for Boot Hill Heroes, will it remain an overlooked underdog among RPGs? Or will the upcoming premiere of Boot Hill Heroes 2 shine a spotlight on this series?
