To celebrate Experimental Gamer going to PAX East this weekend, Boot Hill Heroes can now be purchased for PC.

I was hoping to release the game through Steam or Gog. But the game is ready and not willing to wait for those platforms. For now, you can purchase the game through this cool Humble Store Widget.

I’ll be emailing those that pre-purchased the game shortly.

Enjoy the game!

Enjoyed part 1 quite a bit, I beat the game and am on the extra part (Kick Starter Creek) and the game crashes every time when I exit out the cave on the other side (Would be more specific but don’t want to spoil things) Is this a known issue?

    • Dave Welch says:

Yeah. You’ll need an updated version of the game that fixes that. Congratulations on finishing part 1!

    • Dave Welch says:

I’ll send you the updated version.

      • Ryan says:

After receiving the newest update I was able to complete the Kickstart Creek quest. I was wondering a couple of things…

        1) Is there anything else to do afterwards or is that essentially it until part 2?

        2) Is there a plan for multiple save slots in the future? (If I wanted to have one file for solo play and another for co op play for example)

        3) When part 2 is released will all my levels gained, equipment found, etc. transfer over?

        • Dave Welch says:

          1) You completed that quest? That takes a lot of determination. You found your reward for doing so right? After that, that’s about it for part 1. But if people want to play more then I’m happy to create more content. The Wild West is a vast place, where would you like to see the Boot Hill Heroes go?

          2) I don’t have plans for it but if it’s something people want then I’ll do it. Or there’s a simple way to back up your save file if you want to start a new game. Email me and I’ll tell you how.

          3) Most likely, at least in the PC version.

  2. Ryan says:

    1) I completed the quest and got the 4 weapons (1 for each character) from the cave, is there an award besides that? I talked to the (trying not to reveal spoilers) quest giver and he commented on me saving the town but that mysterious gift box was still locked, I’m not 100% sure what you mean by reward other than that, but I did meet the mayor and found the source for the crazy nature of the town. In respects to where I would like to see Boot Hill Heroes go, Some interesting places that I saw mentioned in various places in the game are:

    1) The military fort with stock piles of weapons, this could either be a dungeon or town type area with quests, maybe you could go hunting for outlaws in the desert? take out contracts from the militia as their man power is focused on the potential war.

    2) Maybe visiting that town that was destroyed, the remnants of it maybe one of the Saints is there trying to cover up some evidence that was left behind?

As far as my own ideas for some locations, I was thinking Texas and going over some of the history there, or a trip to a certain area of Mexico to fight the Mexican member of the Saints (his exact name escapes me at the moment) Perhaps even some sort of gold rush.

    2) I’d really like to have multiple save files, it doesn’t have to be a crazy amount of slots although I’m sure some people would like that, I was more just thinking like 3 slots like classic snes rpgs ala Chrono Trigger

    3) Excellent, I’m at level 22 and have all the weapons from the Kickstart Creek caves with fire/poison mods.

There is a reward for clearing the mine in Kickstart Creek. I believe someone in the mayor’s mansion says something about people returning to Kickstart Creek. You’ll find them if you look around.

I like your suggestions for locales. You’ll see a lot of them in the next games in the series.
